  • Admission

Enrollment in Summer at Crossroads has no bearing on admission for the academic year.
  • Absences & Tardies

For Upper School credit courses students must plan to attend all twenty-four days of class.

We understand that illness can happen in the summer. For classes that meet for twenty-four days, a student may miss a maximum of three class sessions. For classes that meet less than twenty-four, a student may only miss two class sessions. Two tardies to the same class may count as one absence.

When absent or late to class, students are still responsible for completing all assigned work. Students must complete all course requirements to receive Upper School academic credit. Additional absences will lower a student’s grade in the class and or may preclude the awarding of any credit.
  • Canceled Classes

We reserve the right to combine or cancel any program or course or to add additional sections and teachers as necessary. In some cases, a course will be offered at more than one time. In the event of a cancellation, we will make every attempt to place the student in a comparable program or course. You will be notified when your choices are unavailable. If we are unable to find a program or course that meets your needs, a full refund will be issued.
  • Enrollment

Enrollment is open to the public. Enrollment deadlines will vary by course and will be noted in the course descriptions. Enrollment is based on a first-come first-served basis.

Many programs and courses have a minimum and maximum enrollment. Waitlists for most courses are not available.
  • Enrollment Deadlines

To provide our faculty with time to create these amazing programs and plan for their summer, we now have enrollment deadlines for many of our one-week programs (see each program description for deadline dates).

As soon as the minimum enrollment requirement is met, the enrollment deadline will be lifted, and spaces will be available until the program or class is sold out. Programs that do not meet the minimum enrollment may be canceled, and families will be contacted to select alternative options.

We encourage you to enroll early.
  • Enrollment Kits

Each student will be sent an enrollment kit. This kit contains information specific to programs or courses selected. Included in these kits are Trip Release Forms, Student Handbooks, and other information we may require prior to the first day of a program or course. This information will also available on this website under "Once You've Enrolled" in mid-May.
  • Extended Care for K-5 Programs

Extended Care is offered before and after K-5 programs. The rates are offered by the week, the day or complements the Kindergarten program. See the Extended Care course descriptions on the K-5 Programs page for more info.
  • Faculty & Staff

Faculty and staff listed in this catalog are subject to change without notice.
  • Fees

There is a $35.00 fee on all returned checks or invalid or returned credit card payment requests.
  • Field Trip Release Forms

All students participating in a program or course that has planned trip(s) to leave campus are required to have this form on file prior to the first day of the program or course. A student is not allowed to leave on a trip from either campus without this form. These forms are included in the enrollment kit.

  • General Conduct

Summer at Crossroads primary concern is the quality of education for its students. For the summer school to function properly, it is necessary for each member of the community to cooperate in upholding standards of politeness and respect. Students who fail to comply with a commonly accepted standard of behavior will be subject to disciplinary action. Families should refer to the Summer: Student – Parent Handbooks for specific rules and policies.
  • Holidays

Crossroads School will be closed Friday, July 3 in observance of Independence Day.
  • Immunizations

All students enrolling in Summer at Crossroads who are not currently enrolled at Crossroads during the academic year must provide a current record of immunization. Details will be included in the enrollment kit.
  • Payments

Tuition in full is due at the time of enrollment. Spaces are not held without payment in full. Materials and laboratory fees, unless otherwise noted, are included with tuition.
    .
Credit cards are accepted as payment in full for on line enrollments. Specific information is required, as is indicated on the enrollment form.

On line enrollments can also be processed for those families wanting to pay by check or cash. The enrollment will be held in the office until payment has been received. Specific information is required, as is indicated on the enrollment form.

Books for Upper School courses are not included in the price of tuition. A book list will be issued in May
  • Proration of Class Fees

Tuition will not be prorated due to absence or late entry. Because many classes are taught in sequential order, late entry to classes is not permitted.
  • Processing Fees

Each student is required to pay an annual $50.00 (non-refundable) enrollment processing fee. If you enroll online and decide to add classes, contact the office, otherwise you may be charged twice for this fee.
  • Refunds & Dropped Classes

We recognize that summer plans can change.  The School contracts with faculty and assumes material and other costs based upon processed enrollments. A withdrawal by a student does not change the School’s obligation and expense.  Please note the following dates for processing of any refunds (less the non-refundable processing fee of $50.00 per student).

Written or email notification for all cancellations or changes is required.
    • Withdrawals or dropped classes between March 15 and May 31 = 50% refund (less processing fee).
    • Withdrawals or dropped classes between June 1 and June 15 = 25% refund (less processing fee).
    • No refunds are given for withdrawals made after June 15.

In the event of a canceled class or program, Crossroads will issue a refund (including the processing fee, if the entire enrollment is canceled) based on the method of payment.
  • Tuition Reduction (Financial Aid)

In an effort to support the socio-economic diversity of our summer student population, a limited number of financial aid awards are available to lower the cost of summer classes. Awards are made based on demonstrated need.

For current Crossroads students, financial aid is processed automatically. Families are to enroll (using the current XRDS online enrollment forms) by April 17 and indicate the student is currently receiving financial aid. Families will be contacted by the Summer Office with award details.

For NON-Crossroads students, our financial aid process and procedures have changed for Summer 2020. And, due to the current situation with COVID-19, the original March 20 date for activating our financial aid applications has changed as well. We know that many of you are anxious to get the application process started, but at this time, we do not have a start date for this process. Instead of asking you to check back, please complete the short form on our Financial Aid page, so we can contact you when we have more information.
