Tuition Reduction

In an effort to support the socio-economic diversity of our summer student population, financial aid awards are available through our Tuition Reduction Fund (TRF) to lower the cost of classes.

Non-Crossroads families can apply for financial aid and select classes by clicking the appropriate button below.

Crossroads families can use the enrollment forms listed above and indicate on the form that your child is currently on XRDS TRF.

For Non-Crossroads Students, Grades K-5 and 6-12 (for Non-Academic Classes)
In addition to the completed form (see links above), we will need a copy of your 2017 Federal Tax Return. Completed application deadline is end of day on May 4. Applications will be reviewed starting May 7, and we will begin making awards via email on May 14. Priority consideration will be given to students living in the Pico neighborhood.
For Non-Crossroads Students, Grades 9-12 (Needing Academic Credit Classes)
This deadline is ongoing as we understand that students may not know which course(s) are needed until later in May or June.

For Current Crossroads Students
Please use the regular online enrollment forms. Online enrollment is required for all Crossroads students requesting a Tuition Reduction Fund award. Please indicate on the enrollment form that your child is currently on XRDS TRF. Payment will not be required until courses and the awards are confirmed. Space is limited. We highly encourage you to enroll before May 4.

  • Science, "Electrifying Explorers," grades 4-5 [CANCELED]

In this class, young electrical inventors walk in the shoes and investigate the work of Steve Jobs, Marie Curie, Lonnie Johnson and Dean Kamen.  Students learn how to design and build simple, series, complex and parallel circuits by using components such as wire, batteries and bulbs. They investigate conductors and insulators and explore the meaning of voltage and resistance. These Electrifying Explorers then demonstrate and apply their new knowledge by designing and building their own electrical circuit creation by converting an old electrical gadget into their own invention. Other projects have included making a circuit board game, robot and an electrical toolbox.
