    Wave Runners - Swim Stroke Development and Fitness Class, grades 2-12
    The winter session begins Monday, November 26, 2018 and runs through Wednesday, February 13, 2019.

    There are no practices on the following Crossroads non-school days:
    • Friday. December 14 – MS Sports Spectacular
    • Friday December 21 through January 6, 2019
    • Restart sessions after Winter Break on Monday January 7.
    • There are no practices on the following Crossroads non-school days.
    • Friday, January 11 – Sports Extravaganza
    • Monday, January 21 – MLK

    Wave Runners Beginner Group: ages 10 and under
    Monday – Wednesday – Friday, 5-6 p.m.
    and Saturday, 9-10 a.m.

    Swimmers will develop and improve their skills in all four competitive strokes (freestyle, backstroke, butterfly, and breaststroke). They will learn important racing skills such as starts and turns. Our goal is to help students see themselves as athletes while maintaining primary focus on a fun, mechanically sound swimming experience.

    Ability to swim 25 yards of freestyle and 25 yards of backstroke or backstroke kick.

    Wave Runner Intermediate/Advanced Group: ages 9 and older
    Monday – Wednesday – Friday, 6-7:30 p.m. and
    Saturday, 8:30-10 a.m.

    Practices are designed to develop swimmers’ overall performance and dedication to the sport while simultaneously providing a fun and engaging team atmosphere. Our focus is on the continued development of individual’s competitive skills both in practice and at meets by setting goals, refining stroke mechanics and implementing a challenging workout regime.

    Ability to swim a minimum of 25 yards in all four racing strokes (Butterfly, Backstroke, Freestyle, Breaststroke). Swimmers will be placed in either intermediate or advanced levels based on overall ability.

Important Information

Fees & Materials
Summer course fees include all class materials, supplies, field trip expenses and a t-shirt. Books are not provided for Upper School courses. A book list will be provided. Students in grades 6-12 are expected to bring notebooks, paper, pencils, and pens to class on the first day.  

Academic Credit
An academic credit form is required to have grades and transcripts sent to a student’s home school.

Food is available for purchase at the 21st Street Campus during snack and lunch.

Extended Care
There is no extended care on the 21st Street Campus, however, several classes meet from 1-4 p.m., 1-5 p.m. and 3:15-5 p.m.
