Do you love to sing? Are you interested in writing your own songs? Then this is the course for you! This workshop focuses on vocal performance - as soloists and members of an ensemble - and on the craft of songwriting. We'll study music from various genres and eras - from standards to top 40 hits, from musical theater to rap to country to parodies - to help you find a style that's uniquely you. Express yourself through song in a fun, easygoing, nonjudgmental environment. Bring an instrument or just bring yourself. All experience levels welcome.

  • Strategies for Success in High School, One-Week, grades 9-10

So often students are overwhelmed by high school and how different it is from middle school.

“How do I get everything done?”  “I forgot to turn in my homework.”

This workshop gives students tools and key strategies for navigating and succeeding in their academic subjects in high school. Students put into practice the strategies through role-play (simulating an Algebra 1 Fun class).

Students also look at ways to achieve balance at school and at home.

    Some of the topics include:

    Critical Thinking, What Is That?
    Get Organized
    Managing Distractions and Social Media
    Studying Efficiently
Homework is For You, not your Teacher
How to “Manage” and Talk to Your Teacher
    How to Prepare for Assessments
    Managing Your Time

Students are provided with a journal or they may bring their own journal or composition book to each session.
